I have been engaged in the field of consumer and social marketing research for over 30 years, with formative training in the context of major advertising agencies in Canada and Australia. My early professional years were focused on working on major packaged goods accounts in tandem with a multi-disciplinary team of media, creative, marketing and account service professionals. The turning point in my career occurred when I became research director for a national advertising agency that handled primarily government accounts, plunging me into the world of issues and messages for the common good. When I started Informa I began to work with food commodity groups, marketing boards and smaller local value-added food producers.
